GILROY – Williams Dental Lab built a two-game lead in the Women’s B League second-half pennant chase Tuesday with an 18-11 victory over Don’s Vending at Las Animas Park.
Wendy Wilson and Maureen Hughes each scored four runs as Williams Dental moved to 3-0 midway through the half. Handmade Healthcare dropped a forfeit decision to Krazy Koyotes to leave the other three clubs in the league at 1-2.
Lydia Cano hit a two-scoring triple and scored on a Liz Adams home run in the second inning as Don’s Vending, the first-half C League champion, battled to an 8-8 tie after three innings.
Vicki Christopher’s run-scoring triple ignited a four-run fourth for Williams Dental Lab. Jenny Szyndrowski clubbed a two-run single as Williams Dental added six runs in the sixth inning.
Margene Peterson went 4-for-4 and Sandy Fortino, Hughes, Christopher and Wilson each mustered three hits. Kathy Van Hoy went 4-for-4 and Adams and Megan Myrick each netted three hits for Don’s Vending.
John Ceballos and Kat Corrales each went 4-for-4 to propel 3-0 Radiator Doctor past Team FX 17-11 Tuesday in Co-Rec C League play at Gavilan Sports Park.
Ceballos drove in three runs and Annette Maquinalez, Ryan Rojas, Corrales and Henry Maquinalez each drove in two Radiator Doctor runs. Rojas went 4-for-5 and scored three runs. Gilbert Ramirez hit two doubles, Goerge Smith a single and double for Team FX.
Dutchman’s Pizza-Big Kahunas is second at 2-1 after a 14-10 victory over DALEO. Rudi Groppe capped a 4-for-4 night for the Kahunas with a grand slam in the sixth to break a 10-10 tie. Danny Benz went 3-for-4, Jim St. Claire 3-for-4 for the winners. Kurt Gitmed and Rich Furtado powered home runs for DALEO.
Rich Rodriquez went 4-for-4 with three RBI as Victoria’s Restaurant Banditos defeated Bike Center-DataMate Accounting 21-2 in a battle of Men’s B League unbeatens at Christmas Hill Park.
Rodney Sakai added a home run, triple and double for 3-0 Victoria’s, while Leroy Dozal and Alex Garcia each doubled and scored for the Bikers.
John Vasquez hit two doubles and Mike Olguin added a single and triple to highlight a 7-4 Out 2 Bang nod over Lopez Vending Machines. Jess Lopez and Will Hill each collected two Lopez Vending hits.
Jose Bueno and Steve Martinez each went 4-for-4 as Talamo Foods topped B&T Farms 18-7. Mike Soto provided four hits for Talamo. Dennis Castro homered and Gil Barry lined two doubles for B&T Farms.
