El Roble will have its first jump-a-thon to raise money for the school Friday.
The school’s Parent and Teacher Association will sponsor the event that will have students jumping on eight to 10 trampolines in houses.
The jump houses were sponsored by individuals and companies in the community, and students will earn money based on the amount of the pledges for the length of time they jump.
The PTA is hoping the event, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at El Roble, will raise between $7,000 and $10,000.
“The money will go partly toward a teacher’s wish list, part will go toward the beginning of a multipurpose room,” said Lynn Nebesnick, a PTA member. The rest will be used for other school needs.
“We wanted to do something fun for the kids where the parents have some buy-in,” Nebesnick said.
