Private family services will take place at a later date for Barbara L. Budz, of Coos Bay. Cremation Rites were held at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay.
Barbara was born on March 3, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to Leonard Gornick and Lillian (Smith) Gornick. She passed away on June 3, 2010 at her home in Coos Bay with her family at her side. She was 68 years old.
Barbara married Walter Budz in 1963. He passed away in 1991. The family lived in various Chicago area suburbs before relocating to Morgan Hill, CA in 1978. She had a very successful career in Real Estate before retiring and moving to Coos Bay in 2006 to be near her daughter Karen and her son-in-law Ethan. Her son Wally resides in Sacramento, California.
Barbara spent her retirement volunteering at the Hospice Thriftstore and later at the Bay Area Hospital. She enjoyed home improvement projects, gardening, reading, shopping and crocheting in her spare time.
Her positive attitude, warm smile and helpful nature will be dearly missed.
Barbara is survived by her children Wally Budz of Sacramento, CA; Karen Tobin and her husband Ethan of Coos Bay, OR; and her sisters Patricia Kolb and Rita Mojica.
