Possession of stolen property
– Deputies attempted to make a traffic enforcement stop on a
stolen 2000 white GMC Sierra near Leavesley Road and Swanston Lane,
9:28 a.m. Sept. 2, for speeding and making unsafe lane changes. The
drive accelerated and failed to yield to the deputies’ lights and
siren. When the truck did stop, the driver, Kyle Edward Lowery, 24,
of Gilroy, fled on foot. A witness observed Lowery throw something
into the bushes that turned out to be 28 grams of methamphetamine
and a methamphetamine pipe. Lowery is still at large but deputies
arrested and booked his two passengers, Victoria Ann Diaz, 36, of
Gilroy, and Miriam Villarial Luna, 36, of Gilroy, for warrants and
drug possession.

– John George Campa, 61, of Salinas, 10:25 p.m. Sept. 1, near Luchessa Avenue and Monterey Street for being under the influence, possession of a methamphetamine pipe and parole violation.
– George Gallegos, 37, of Gilroy, 1:07 a.m. Sept. 8, on the 1200 block of Swaner Drive.
Possession of a controlled substance for sale
– Samuel Marvin Schultz, 54, of Gilroy, 9:45 a.m. Sept. 10, near Bloomfield and Davidson avenues for possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Trespassing
– Anthony Wayne Barreras, 28, of Gilroy, and Rebecca Diane Kinman, 27, of Gilroy, 9:45 a.m. Sept. 9, near Camino Arroyo and Gilman Avenue.
Possession of methamphetamine
– Gabriel Avelar Guzman, 33, of Gilroy, 1:30 p.m. Sept. 8, on the 400 block of Vickery Street for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
– Marlene Villabarcelo, 43, of Watsonville, 1:07 a.m. Sept. 8, on the 1200 block of Swaner Drive for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Vehicle theft
– An unlocked 1993 green Mercury Villager that had the keys in the ignition was stolen from the 14000 block of Sycamore Avenue in San Martin, between 5:30 and 5:40 p.m. Sept. 11.
Vandalism
– A water tower at Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., was vandalized causing $3,000 in damage, between 4 p.m. Sept. 9 and 10:45 a.m. Sept. 10.
– A BB gun was used to shoot six holes into the front window of a residence on the 16500 block of Oak Glen in Morgan Hill, 8:45 p.m. Aug. 28.
– About $500 worth of vandalism was reported at Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., 10:30 a.m. Sept. 1.
Commercial burglary
– A fence was cut and two containers were pried open but no property was stolen on the 100 block of Metcalf Road in San Jose, between 12 a.m. Sept. 2 and 2 p.m. Sept. 8.
Identity theft
– A Morgan Hill man received a collection notice for $607 regarding an account he did not open, 9:30 a.m. Sept. 9.
Residential burglary
– A bicycle was stolen from a garage on the 16700 block of Oak Glen Avenue in Morgan Hill, between 10 p.m. Sept. 8 and 6 a.m. Sept. 9.
– Jewelry, tools and other items valued at more than $8,000 were stolen from a residence on the 16300 block of Paradise Valley in Morgan Hill, between 6 p.m. Aug. 8 and 11 a.m. Sept. 1.
Forgery
– A Morgan Hill woman noticed a charge of $1,872 on her credit card account that she did not make, 2 p.m. Sept. 8.
Found property
– A leaf blower was found in the bushes at the San Martin Elementary School, 100 North St., 7:07 p.m. Sept. 7.
– An iPod Classic was found on the side of Hecker Pass Highway near Blackhawk Canyon Road, 8 p.m. Sept. 5.
Petty theft
– An empty tool box, another tool box full of sockets and other tools, a high-lift jack and a bench grinder were stolen from a driveway on the 6700 block of Croy Road in Morgan Hill, between 8:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sept. 6.
Grand theft
– A light green 24-speed Novara bicycle worth $475 was stolen from a yard on the 10100 block of Hale Avenue in Morgan Hill, between 5 p.m. Sept. 4 and 9:30 a.m. Sept. 5.
– A cell phone and $80 were stolen from an unlocked 2010 blue Volvo XC60 on the 7400 block of Crews Road, between 8:30 and 9 a.m. Sept. 2.
– A safe was pried open and $500 was stolen from inside at a residence on the 14700 block of Watsonville Road in Morgan Hill, between 10 a.m. Aug. 23 and 10 a.m. Sept. 2. The victim believes it was an inside job by a family member.
Assault with a deadly weapon
A fight broke out between eight to 10 people on the 15400 block of Railroad Avenue in Morgan Hill and at least two victims were injured with what may have been a beer bottle but declined medical treatment.
Recovered stolen vehicle
– A 1991 red Toyota Tacoma was found near Willow Springs Road and Hale Avenue in Morgan Hill, 11:21 a.m. Sept. 1, and was returned to its owner.
Auto burglary
– A white man with brown hair and blue eyes wearing a gray beanie and dark clothing broke the window of a vehicle parked on the 2300 block of Dunlap Avenue and stole a black purse from inside, 4:30 a.m. Sept. 2. He also broke the window of a vehicle parked on the 8900 block of Marcella Avenue and stole a car stereo from inside, 5:20 a.m. Sept. 2. He was caught during the second burglary by the owner of the vehicle and fled on foot. The man returned to the scene and attempted to flee in his vehicle, a 1990 white Chevrolet pickup truck, but crashed into a ditch and fled again. The man is still at large.
