Gilroy police made arrests for a variety of crimes over the last week, including felony attempted robbery, driving under the influence, assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful sexual intercourse. Arrests were recorded in the Gilroy Police Department blotter between Sept. 22 and 29.
Attempted robbery
• Gilroy man, 49, Sept. 25 at 9:10 p.m. near the intersection of First Street and Wren Avenue for one felony charge, destroying or concealing evidence, possession of a controlled substance and re-arrest for probation revocation.
Battery
• Hollister man, 44, Sept. 26 at 3:04 p.m. on the 8300 block of Arroyo Circle for battery on a former spouse, fiancé or friend.
• Gilroy man, 32, Sept. 28 at 7:55 p.m. on the 7700 block of Eigleberry Street for battery and assault on a person.
Burglary
• Woman with no listed address, 57, Sept. 24 at 9:22 p.m. near the intersection of First and Church streets for felony first-degree burglary.
Driving violations
• Gilroy woman, 29, Sept. 22 at 8:38 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey Street and Welburn Avenue for driving with privileges suspended or revoked, failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility and using a cell phone while driving.
• Gilroy man, 35, Sept. 24 at 8:15 a.m. at the Gilroy Police Department for driving with privileges suspended or revoked and improper child seat restraint.
Drug possession
• Gilroy man, 24, Sept. 23 at 12:37 p.m. on the 500 block of Old Gilroy Street for possession of a controlled substance and use or being under the influence of a controlled substance.
• Gilroy woman, 43, Sept. 23 at 11:48 p.m. on the 800 block of First Street for one misdemeanor charge, possession of drug paraphernalia and use or being under the influence of a controlled substance.
• Gilroy woman, 40, Sept. 25 at 8:06 p.m. near the intersection of Monterey and Howson streets for one misdemeanor charge, possession of drug paraphernalia and use of a controlled substance.
• Gilroy man, 20, Sept. 26 at 1:10 p.m. on the 300 block of Mantelli Drive.
• Gilroy woman, 56, Sept. 27 at 2:19 p.m. on the 6700 block of Church Street.
• Gilroy man, 35, Sept. 27 at 9:36 p.m. near the intersection of Eigleberry and Fifth streets for three misdemeanor charges.
• San Jose man, 26, Sept. 29 at 7 a.m. on the 6700 block of Camino Arroyo.
DUI
• Watsonville man, 44, Sept. 24 near the intersection of Miller Avenue and Uvas Park Drive for driving under the influence.
• Gilroy man, 48, Sept. 26 at 4:59 p.m. on the 1200 block of First Street.
• San Jose man, 35, Sept. 27 at 1:45 a.m. near the intersection of 10th and Rosanna streets for DUI, driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher, possession of an open container of alcohol and improper stop.
Mayhem
• Gilroy man, 19, Sept. 28 at 3:35 p.m. on the 7300 block of Hanna Street for one felony charge, felony assault with a deadly weapon and petty theft of personal property.
Multiple charges
• Gilroy man, 29, Sept. 25 at 9:01 p.m. near the intersection of Wren Avenue and Welburn Street for vandalism with damages less than $400 and resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer.
Petty theft
• Gilroy man, 31, Sept. 22 at 7:19 p.m. near the intersection of Camino Arroyo and Renz Lane for three misdemeanor charges and use or being under the influence of a controlled substance.
• Fresno man, 23, Sept. 27 at 2:01 p.m. on the 8300 block of Arroyo Circle.
• Gilroy woman, 47, Sept. 27 at 5:30 p.m. on the 7000 block of Princevalle Street for one misdemeanor charge and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Resisting
• Gilroy man, 52, Sept. 29 at 12:27 a.m. near the intersection of Eigleberry and Third streets for resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer and felony processing as a violator for probation revocation.
Sex crimes involving minor
• Gilroy man, 21, Sept. 29 at 1:12 p.m. on the 1000 block of Monte Bello Drive for three outstanding felony warrants for unlawful sexual intercourse, contact with a minor with intent to commit sex crime and texting photos of a minor victim.
Tampering with vehicle
• Gilroy man, 32, Sept. 29 at 11:58 a.m. near the intersection of Eigleberry and Eighth streets for one misdemeanor charge.
Theft
• Gilroy man, 20, Sept. 24 at 8:04 p.m. on the 8400 block of Wayland Drive for theft and being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
Under the influence
• Los Gatos woman, 45, Sept. 24 at 3:01 p.m. on the 6100 block of Monterey Street for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
• Gilroy man, 29, Sept. 26 at 11:12 a.m. on the 800 block of First Street for use or being under the influence of a controlled substance.
• Morgan Hill man, 44, Sept. 27 at 12:02 a.m. on the 2700 block of Ferguson Road for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
• Gilroy man, 24, Sept. 27 at 1:45 a.m. near the intersection of 10th and Church streets for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
• Gilroy man, 69, Sept. 27 at 3:31 p.m. on the 7800 block of Carmel Street for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance and drinking alcohol in public.
• Gilroy man, 29, Sept. 27 at 11:50 a.m. on the 6800 block of Glenview Drive for use or being under the influence of a controlled substance and felony re-arrest for probation violation.
Vandalism
• Man with no listed address, 33, Sept. 27 at 9:54 p.m. on the 7000 block of Church Street for vandalism with damages $400 or less.
