The Gilroy Police Department made arrests for a variety of crimes the past week, including burglary, vehicle theft, possession of a dirk or dagger and indecent exposure. Arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter—a public document obtained under the California Public Record’s Act—between Jan. 6 through 13. All suspects remain innocent until proven guilty, and an appearance in the arrest log does not signify guilt for the listed crime/s.
Burglary
-Samantha McIntire, 22, Jan. 11 at 5:20 p.m. on the 8200 block of Murray Avenue for felony first-degree burglary, trespassing, theft and re-arrest for a probation violation.
Domestic violence
-Dale Pettyjohn, 53, Jan. 5 at 8:57 p.m. on the 8200 block of Murray Avenue for felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant, false imprisonment and unlawful damage or removal of a wireless communication device.
Drinking in public
-Juan Ventura, 41, Jan. 7 at 12:46 p.m. on the 8400 block of Church Street.
Driving under the influence
-Benito Resendiz, 27, Jan. 6 at 1:32 a.m. near the intersection of Murray Avenue and Adams Court for one misdemeanor charge, driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher and driving while unlicensed.
-Jesus Ruiz, 29, Jan. 7 at 7:55 p.m. at the Gilroy Police Department for DUI, driving with a BAC of .08 or higher, driving on a suspended license and expired registration.
-Michael McDowell, 21, Jan. 8 at 2:54 a.m. on the 5900 block of Monterey Road for DUI and driving with a BAC of .08 or higher.
-Benoni Sotomayor, 28, Jan. 8 at 3:47 p.m. near the intersection of Eighth Street and Monterey Road for DUI, driving with a BAC of .08 or higher, driving while unlicensed, driving with privileges suspended for refusing a chemical blood test, throwing a substance at a vehicle, driving on a suspended license and unlawful damage or removal of a wireless communication device.
-Barbara Silveira, 45, Jan. 10 at 2:07 a.m. near the crossing of Leavesley Road and U.S. 101 for DUI.
-Peter Rojas, 59, Jan. 11 at 7:38 p.m. on the 7300 block of Fowler Street for DUI and driving with a BAC of .08 or higher.
Driving violations
-Alfonzo Hernandez Estrada, 22, Jan. 9 at 6:45 p.m. at the Gilroy Police Department for driving while unlicensed and engaging in a speeding contest.
-Ismael Rosas, 34, Jan. 13 at 7:11 p.m. on the 100 block of Leavesley Road for driving with privileges suspended or revoked, possession of a controlled substance, failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility and no tail lamps.
Fraud
-Sergio Roman, 26, Jan. 11 at 2:34 p.m. at the Gilroy Police Department for felony possession of blank checks with intent to defraud and driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
Indecent exposure
-Angel Nevarez, 54, Jan. 10 at 12:14 p.m. near the intersection of First Street and Wren Avenue for felony indecent exposure with prior offense and felony parole hold.
Multiple charges
-Craig Rutz, 58, Jan. 6 at 12:55 p.m. at the Gilroy Police Department for six charges: two for vandalism, one felony and one misdemeanor, felony threats to commit a crime resulting in injury or death, hit and run by a runaway vehicle and hit and run.
-Steven Ortiz, 57, Jan. 7 at 7:40 p.m. on the 900 block of First Street for shoplifting, battery and attempting to commit a crime.
-Tyler Costa, 23, Jan. 8 at 8:55 p.m. at the Gilroy Police Department for felony grand theft, a felony charge for selling or aiding in the sale of stolen property, driving with a BAC of .08 or higher and driving while unlicensed.
-Giovanni Rodriguez, 22, Jan. 12 at 4:07 a.m. near the intersection of Chestnut Street and Stutz Way for possession of a controlled substance, two charges of use or being under the influence of a controlled substance and disturbing the peace with loud and unreasonable noise.
-Allen Silhanek, 22, Jan. 13 at 3:29 p.m. near the intersection of Chestnut and E. Sixth streets for petty theft of personal property, aggravated trespass and use or being under the influence of a controlled substance.

-Angel Rangel, 36, Jan. 6 at 1:44 p.m. near the intersection of First Street and Kern Avenue for one misdemeanor charge.
-Ruben Febo, 47, Jan. 6 at 1:50 p.m. on the 9400 block of No Name Uno for one misdemeanor charge, possession of paraphernalia and re-arrest for probation revocation.
-Valerie Chavez, 23, Jan. 11 at 5:38 p.m. on the 7500 block of Alexander Street for one felony charge.

-Saul Gonzalez, 18, Jan. 8 at 3:20 p.m. at the Gilroy Police Department.
