-What inspires you? Individuals’ doubts in my potential and abilities inspire me to push myself and work harder in order to reach my personal goals, therefore exceeding everyone’s expectations and proving any doubt they had inaccurate.
-What is your favorite subject in school, and why? My favorite subject in school is English because it requires one to look beyond what is obvious to reveal the deeper meaning of things and I believe that this skill is important in life.
-A current issue you are concerned about, fascinated with, or interested in: A current issue that concerns me is the reliability of voting software that states across the country utilize during elections. Though there have been many accounts of the demonstrated flaws in the technology, the nation continues to use them, therefore depreciating the election data and making the voters’ outcome seem unreliable and falsely represented.
-If you could go anywhere, where would you go? I have dreams of traveling to Switzerland, France and Italy. However, if I could choose only one, it would be Italy due to its immeasurable beauty, countless tourism attractions and delicious Italian cuisine.
-Name one big challenge in your life right now: One big challenge in my life right now is developing a healthy balance between my schoolwork, sports and social life.
-What is your dream job? My dream job is to become a marine biologist. I strive to discover the unknown, revealing the mysteries and possible cures that the ocean may have to offer our community.
-What are your three favorite things? My three favorite things are field hockey, marine biology and spending time with my friends and family.
-Favorite Book: My favorite book is “East of Eden” because of its extensive usage of figurative elements such as symbolism, metaphor and allegory. I have the utmost respect for John Steinbeck in that he took the time to create such an elaborate piece of literary work that was compelling to read from start to finish.
-What do you want to do after high school? After high school I am going to attend the University of California, Berkeley to continue playing field hockey and to further my education in the biological sciences.
-Something that makes you smile: Laughter, crazy antics and kind acts make me smile. However, I feel truly blissful when I’m driving my car on the back roads with my music up and the windows down and I can literally breathe in the moment and relax.
-Top three most played songs on your iTunes or iPod: “Against the Grain” by City and Colour, “We can Make Love” by SoMo and “She Knows” by Ne-Yo ft. Juicy J.
