The Gilroy Police Department recently responded to a variety of crimes this week, including felony sexual penetration with a foreign object while the victim is unconscious, passing a fictitious check, possession of a controlled substance and burglary. Arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter April 27 through May 5. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
Passing a fictitious check
-Gilbert Torres, 48, April 27 at 11:05 p.m. on the 8400 block of San Ysidro Avenue for four separate felony charges.
Sex crimes
-Jose Martinez Bautista, 27, May 2 at 6:46 p.m. near the intersection of Hanna and Seventh streets for two felony charges of oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child and six felony charges of lewd or lascivious acts with a child.
-Juan Gonzalez, 44, May 3 at 2:30 a.m. on the 500 block of IOOF Avenue for a felony charge of sexual penetration against an unconscious victim with a foreign object.
Domestic violence
-Jose Zuniga, 30, May 3 at 12:32 a.m. near the intersection of San Ysidro Avenue and Leavesley Road for felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant and felony vandalism with damages of $50,000 or more.
-Johnny Morales, 32, May 4 at 12:29 p.m. near the intersection of First Street and Wren Avenue for felony false imprisonment, felony threats to commit a crime resulting in bodily injury or death, battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend, felony grand theft and felony second-degree burglary.
-Anita Acevedo, 19, May 4 at 8:23 p.m. near the intersection of Miller Avenue and Uvas Parkway for felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant and violation of a court order in a domestic violence case.
Driving under the influence
-Stephen Gutierrez, 23, May 2 at 1:15 a.m. near the intersection of Hecker Pass Highway and Burchell Road for DUI, driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher and hit and run.
-Brian Johnson, 39, May 3 at 1:08 a.m. on the 400 block of Leavesley Road.

-Leilani Jones, 29, April 29 at 3:15 p.m. on the 7300 block of Hanna Street.
Multiple charges
-Alyssa Suniga, 18, April 29 at 2:13 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for theft and two charges of possession of a controlled substance.
-Shawncey Blake, 40, April 29 at 5:10 p.m. on an undisclosed segment of First Street for felony attempted possession of a forged drivers license and theft or unauthorized use of a vehicle.
-Samuel Gonzales, 61, April 30 at 1:30 p.m. on the 5900 block of Travel Park Circle for resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer and two charges of disorderly conduct for loitering.
-Jesse Valdez, 39, May 1 at 3:11 a.m. near the intersection of Swanston and Wheeler lanes for felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and five outstanding warrants including false imprisonment, willful disobedience of a court order, inflicting bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant and dissuading a witness from reporting a crime.
-John Carillo, 22, May 1 at 3:11 near the intersection of Swanston and Wheeler lanes for felony parole hold and violation of a court order in a domestic violence case.
-Miguel Henriquez Vargas, 31, May 1 at 11:21 a.m. on the 200 block of First Street for presenting a false ID to a peace officer and possession of false identification documents.
-Jack Steven, 52, May 2 at 10:35 a.m. on an undisclosed segment of Church Street for two charges of possession of a controlled substance, trespassing and soliciting a lewd act.
-Steven Brooks, 46, May 2 at 11 p.m. near the intersection of Church Street and Gurries Drive for unlawful possession of paraphernalia, an outstanding warrant for a felony parole violation and felony parole hold.
-Felisha Sambrano, 27, May 2 at 11 p.m. near the intersection of Church Street and Gurries Drive for felony second-degree burglary and felony possession of a controlled substance.
-Carlos Ruiz, 21, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of IOOF and Murray avenues for possession of marijuana, failure to stop and being an unlicensed driver.
-Michael Alfaro, 51, May 3 at 4:19 p.m. near the intersection of Westwood Drive and Primrose Lane for felony possession of a controlled substance, felony vandalism with damages exceeding $50,000, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
-John Campa, 65, May 4 at 3:38 p.m. near the intersection of 10th and Alexander streets for resisting arrest, use/being under the influence of a controlled substance and an outstanding warrant for processing as a violator for revocation.
