A Hispanic man carjacked someone at gunpoint on the 800 block of
El Cerrito Way, 3:21 p.m. Dec. 23. The suspect, who goes by the
nickname

JR,

was described as between 160 and 180 pounds and in his mid-20s.
He was wearing a long sleeve shirt and dark-colored pants. The
vehicle, a grey 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup, was later recovered by
police at the same location.
Weapons

Two juveniles were in possession of a switchblade knife at school, 9:35 a.m. Dec. 19, on IOOF Avenue. Both juveniles, who said the knife was for protection, were cited and released to their parents.

Residential Burglary

Someone entered a vacant residence on the 2000 block of Hollyhock Lane and took three tools and changed the locks to the residence, between Dec. 14 and 18.

Petty theft

Some employees had their wallets stolen while working at the Fox outlet on Leavesley Road, 10:52 p.m. Dec. 19. School identification cards, credit cards, and insurance cards were among the items in the wallets.

Somebody took an angel Christmas Christmas light angel ornament, estimated worth of $70, and broke a plastic candy cane at the front yard of a residence on the 7100 block of Orchard Drive, between 8 p.m. Dec. 20 and 7 a.m. Dec. 21.

Two FedEx boxes, containing Bali wood carvings of an angel and a family, valued at $155 and $33, respectively, from the front porch of a residence on the 8300 block of Carmel Street, between 1 and 5 p.m. Dec. 22.

A woman entered Target on Camino Arroyo, took several items and put them in her purse, 12:55 p.m. Dec. 23. She then went though checkout, but paid for only one item. A private security guard saw this and stopped her outside the store. When stopped, she admitted she had gone into the store with the intention of stealing.

Auto burglary

The side window of a silver Toyota Corolla parked on the 7800 block of Hanna Street was broken and a purse was stolen, between 10:05 and 11:15 a.m. Dec. 20. The purse contained a wallet and a checkbook, an ATM card, a health cards, a driver’s license and a social security card.

Someone stole $1,000 worth of miscellaneous gifts, clothing, houseware and rental property paperwork from a Mazda MX-5 with its convertible top left down and parked on the 600 block of Leavesley Road, 8:30 p.m. Dec. 20.

Grand theft

A woman passed out in her friend’s car while on their way to Gilroy from a bar in San Jose 12:09 a.m. Dec. 20. The next day, she realized $600 in cash was missing from her wallet. She believes her friend took it while he was driving her home.

Passing counterfeit bills

An unknown person tried to use a fake $100 bill at the Longs Drugs on First Street, 9:01 a.m. Dec. 23.

Two white women used three fake $20 bills to purchase items at the 7-Eleven on First Street, 12:01 a.m. Dec. 23.

Armed robbery

An unknown man entered a store on Camino Arroyo, displayed a handgun from under his jacket and demanded money from the register, 10:40 a.m. Dec. 23. The man took the money and a back safe, then told the clerk and a customer to go to the back of the store while he left.

The account number of a person living on Winged Foot Drive was being used without authorization in Ariz., between Dec. 19 and 20.

Found property

Someone found a Dave Chappelle DVD, a Pyro bowling ball and a Dexter-brand, size 10 pair of black and silver bowling shoes on Saint Francis Court, 4:30 a.m. Dec. 22.
