Gilroyan worked at Morgan Hill’s A Tool Shed Rentals
A Gilroy man is in critical condition after accidentally shooting himself in the head with a nail gun. Maclovio Carrillo, 46, an employee of A Tool Shed Rentals in Morgan Hill, was working on the gun Sunday and had reportedly removed all the nails, according to Morgan Hill Special Operations Sgt. Jerry Neumayer. But the gun’s plunger piece suddenly ejected, embedding in Carrillo’s head. Carrillo apparently removed the plunger before losing consciousness, Neumayer said. He was taken to Regional Medical Center in San Jose by ambulance.
The accident is under investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
