Rosario Garciduenas Castro, beloved mother, passed on July 9, 2008. She was born October 1, 1921 in Mexico to Maria Zavala and Mardonio Ortega Garciduenas. A longtime resident of Morgan Hill, she spent her early years in La Verne, CA. She will be remembered as a loving mother and doting grandmother who built her world around her sons, daughters and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Ralph R. Castro, her eldest son Ralph Castro Jr., grandson Alexander Alfaro, great-grandson Gil Delao, and five Altamirano infants. She is survived by her 8 children and their families: Raquel Altamirano of Madera, Rosa Linda Viola of Gilroy, Rich Castro of Boulder, CO, Rita Hawkins of Morgan Hill, Ralph Castro of Morgan Hill, Roberto Castro of Fresno, Ramon Castro of Milpitas, and Rudy Castro of Las Vegas, NV, 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A member of St. Catherine’s Parish in Morgan Hill for more than 40 years, she was a woman of exceptionally strong faith which she used as a guiding force in her life and to shepherd her family. Her gifts of love, humor and inner strength made her the center of family life for all of her children; she will be remembered for her caring character and particularly how special she made all those who loved her feel in her presence. Visitation will begin Thursday July 17th at 2:00 P.M., followed by a Rosary at 6:30 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street. The Funeral Mass will be Friday July 18th, 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine Catholic Church, 17400 Peak Avenue, Morgan Hill, CA. Arrangements by Johnson Funeral Home.
