Young girl involved in hit-and-run accident in Gilroy

Gilroy Police Department officers are searching for a suspect in
a felony hit-and-run accident involving a young girl at about 5:45
p.m. Tuesday.
Gilroy Police Department officers are searching for a suspect in a felony hit-and-run accident involving a young girl at about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The GPD says the suspect, a female with possible dyed blond hair, was driving a dark colored sports utility vehicle or minivan.

When the GPD responded to the call, they found the girl lying in the roadway on Wren Avenue after the accident on Wren Avenue and Maria Way.

The victim was transported to a Bay Area hospital for nonlife threatening but significant injuries.

The vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on Wren Avenue.
