Driving under the influence

Refugio Gaeta, 23, no address given, 12:49 a.m. Monday, on the 8400 block of Wayland Avenue for driving under the influence, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Stolen vehicle

A purple 1995 Honda Civic sedan was stolen from a residence at 9300 block of Monterey Street, sometime between 11 p.m. Sunday night and early Monday morning.

Minor in possession of tobacco

A 15-year-old male juvenile, whose name police withheld because he is a minor, 12:59 p.m. Monday, at 7500 block of Wren Avenue for being in possession of tobacco products and for giving false information to a police officer.

Public intoxication

Oscar Ramirez, 28, of Salinas, 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, at the Gilroy Police Department, 7301 Hanna St., on an outstanding warrant.

Lewd acts with a minor

Juan Carlos Garcia Gutierrez, 30, of the 7500 block of Rogers Lane, no time given Tuesday, at his residence for lewd acts with a child younger than 14.

Parole hold

Jerry Joseph Mungaray III, 27, of the 400 block of IOOF Avenue, 9 p.m. Tuesday, at his residence on an outstanding warrant for a parole hold.

OTHER GPD INCIDENTS

Robbery

Five subjects punched, kicked and stole a wallet and cell phone from a victim near the intersection of Eighth and Rosanna streets, 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Grand theft

A sport rim and tire valued at $600 were stolen from a white 2005 Mercedes sedan parked in a residential parking lot at 9250 Wren Ave., sometime between 9 a.m. Sunday and 7:25 a.m. Monday.

Four reels of 1,000-foot copper wire valued at $1,300 were stolen from the back of a white Ford F350 truck parked in a locked work yard at Giacalone Electric, 6300 Monterey Road, sometime between 5:30 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Assault

Two suspects came up to a security guard and punched him in the face while he was working at Longs Drugs, 825 First St., 2:37 a.m. Monday. The victim then pepper-sprayed the two assailants, who fled in a green Ford truck.

Omar Montesinos, 24, no address given, 11:40 p.m. Sunday, near the intersection of Lawrence Drive and Wren Avenue for assault. Montesinos pulled the victim’s hair and hit her twice in the face, bruising her left arm and giving her a swollen cheek.

Petty theft

A cell phone valued at $200 that was sitting on a toolbox at Gilroy Ford Lincoln Mercury, 6290 Monterey Road, was stolen, 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Commercial burglary

An unknown suspect or suspects pried apart metal bars, kicked in an air-conditioning unit and took an alarm off the ceiling of L.A. Men’s Wear, 7450 Monterey St., sometime between 9:30 p.m. Sunday and 9:45 a.m. Monday. The suspect or suspects also stole $300 from the cash register and $30,000 from inside a file cabinet.

Identity theft

Five credit cards, stolen along with a vehicle, were being used to make purchases. The victim reported the crime at 11:30 a.m. Monday.

Injury accident

A brown 1989 Ford Taurus was driving over the speed limit and rear-ended a black 2003 Mazda TK near the intersection of Eigleberry and Fourth streets, 3:42 p.m. Monday.

Injured animal

An injured dog was found near the intersection of Church Street and Loupe Court and brought to the Princevalle Pet Hospital for treatment.

Auto burglary

A black briefcase containing papers and valued at $121 was stolen from a black Chevrolet Silverado, 5:41 p.m. Oct. 30. The victim initially reported the incident, in which a suspect or suspects broke the passenger side window and caused $250 in damage, as vandalism. When San Jose police made an arrest in connection with the crime, however, they found the briefcase.
