Gilroy Lions donate more than 1,000 pairs of eyeglasses

The Gilroy Lions Club recently collected 1,340 pairs of used eyeglasses where they were boxed and will be sent to the Eyeglass Collection Center in Vallejo. There, they will be catalogued, transported throughout the world by volunteers and given away.

SV Civic Theater presents ‘Scrooge! the Musical’

South Valley Civic Theatre presents “Scrooge! the Musical” Saturday, Nov. 30, Dec. 1, 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 8 p.m.; matinees Nov. 25, Dec. 2 and Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. Performances are at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse.

Enchilada Fiesta benefits ADB violin program

The 4th annual Enchilada Fiesta will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 30, with a violin concert at 7 p.m. Take-out is available.

Advance tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children. Adult tickets are $7 at the door. There will be an elaborate silent auction as well as raffles throughout the evening.

Craft show benefits veteran’s organizations, local charities

The Ladies Auxiliary, VFW, Post #9242, Hollister is sponsoring a Holiday Craft Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Veterans Memorial Building, 649 San Benito St. Proceeds benefits veterans organizations and local charities.

SV Symphony presents ‘Sounds of the Holiday Season’

South Valley Symphony presents “Sounds of the Holiday Season” 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 and 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 at Gilroy Presbyterian Church, 6000 Miller Ave., Gilroy, with Gavilan Concert Choir, directed by Phil Robb.

Admission prices are $20 for adults, $15 for senior citizens age 55 and older, and $10 for students aged 12 to 18. Children younger than 12 will be admitted free with a paid adult admission.
