It seems that the person that wrote it has lived here for a
while or did some research on the fact that, the CITY OF GILROY
planted those liquidamber and fruitless pear trees that have
damaged the sidewalks.

It seems that the person that wrote it has lived here for a while or did some research on the fact that, the CITY OF GILROY planted those liquidamber and fruitless pear trees that have damaged the sidewalks. The city is responsible for the repair and the property owners should demand it!
The city got it’s “Tree City USA” award at the expense of the property owners! I’m sure the city can find a way to fix this problem, just as they could find some “extra” $$$ to put a crime lab into the new $28 million police station!
It’s OK to plan for the future, but sometimes you have to take care of the problems that exist now which have been created by bad judgment in the past!
Go back to the basics and don’t spend a $1 million planting trees in Uvas Creek only to see them get washed away in the next big rain!
Maybe if the CITY were to cut some of the $ 100,000-plus per year administrative positions that make all these illogical decisions, they could find some money to fix the sidewalks.
