Little League in Las Vegas by a score of 10-0 in four innings.
Vancouver, Wash. – Gilroy’s Little League Softball All-Stars kept rolling on Tuesday, shutting out the Nevada state champions from Silverado Little League in Las Vegas by a score of 10-0 in four innings.

Gilroy sent three pitchers to the mound during the game while holding the Nevada Champions to two hits and no runs. Starter Sam Parraz went one inning, Alissa Castro pitched another inning and Stephanie Rodriguez pitched the final two frames, to combine for the shutout of the Nevada champions.

Gilroy scored two runs in the bottom of the first on two hits and three walks. The Garlic All-Stars then tacked on four more in the second inning on a walk, a hit batter, an error and three more hits.

Gilroy closed out the scoring in the third on three walks, two errors and a hit.

Rodriguez pitched the scoreless top of the fourth to clinch Gilroy’s second win and raise its Southwestern Pool record to 2-1.

Gilroy can clinch a spot in Saturday’s championship semifinal game with a win over the Utah state champion Cedar American Little League on Thursday afternoon.

Gilroy catcher Melanie Morelos has been punishing opposing pitching at the tournament. She has gone 5-for-7 at the plate for the tournament.
