Brendan Holler pitched a five-inning two-hitter and belted a two-run home run to lead Gilroy High’s baseball team to an 11-1 home win over Everett Alvarez on Friday.

Holler hit a two-run shot to left field as part of a four-run fourth inning that helped the Mustangs (8-1-1, 6-0 Monterey Bay League Pacific Division) build an 11-1 lead and put the run rule into effect. The senior leadoff hitter went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs, finishing a double shy of hitting for the cycle.

Dallas Wilson went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Mustangs, and teammates Marcus Medina and Alex Vega added two hits each.

Monte Vista Christian 7, Christopher 6 – Austin Muller hit a grand slam to help the Mustangs edge the host Cougars.

Christopher got two hits each from J.J. Jimenez (two RBIs) and Jim Hagan (two RBIs), and teammate Rob Driscal had an RBI double. Patrick Valdez also knocked in a run for the Cougars.
