■… It is in very, very poor taste for the recipients to accept. Note to city administrator: lead by example. You were forced to fire employees and the remaining must accept work furloughs at the same time they assume extra work load. Do you think it’s a good idea for you to accept a raise? If you do, you need to be fired.
■NO! … look at the state of the city!
â– No. Seriously WHO gets 5% in today’s economy?
â– No. We’ve experienced cuts in services and other issues concerning the budget so this move was too generous considering the economic climate. What are they thinking?
■… Both employees should decline the raise and if they haven’t taken a pay cut they should step up and tighten their belt.
