turned the trick Tuesday at Las Animas Park to keep a one-game lead
in the Men’s C standings.
Joe Diaz Sr. pitched the first four innings and Joe Diaz Jr.
twirled the final three frames as CenCal Auto Body (4-1) blanked DS
Builders 1-0 in a 51-minute contest.
GILROY – A 1-0 slowpitch softball game is a rarity, but CenCal Auto Body turned the trick Tuesday at Las Animas Park to keep a one-game lead in the Men’s C standings.
Joe Diaz Sr. pitched the first four innings and Joe Diaz Jr. twirled the final three frames as CenCal Auto Body (4-1) blanked DS Builders 1-0 in a 51-minute contest.
Consecutive one-out singles by Ray Keldsen, Diaz Jr. and Diaz Sr. accounted for the game’s run in the second inning. CenCal finished with eight singles, DS Builders six singles. The Builders (2-3) did not have a runner reach third base until the seventh.
DeHaro Mechanicals is second at 3-2 after a 13-2 victory over So Juicy-Vets.
Gabe Hernandez powered a grand slam and two singles for DeHaro. Andrew Ornelas went 4-for-4 and Phil Ruiz netted a double and two singles. Julian Castaneda doubled and singled for So Juicy-Vets (1-4).
Brenda Horder Farmer’s Insurance-Dee’z Nutz topped Team Guerrero 12-6 in Men’s BB play Monday at Christmas Hill Park.
Farmer’s-Dee’z extended a 7-6 lead with five runs in the sixth, keyed by RBI-doubles from Bobby Reggiani and Ryan Dequin. Rob Silva went 3-for-3 as the winners joined Frank Vargas Taxes at 3-1 atop the five-team league. Danny Pequeno doubled and singled for Team Guerrero (1-3).
Los Gigantes reached third place at 2-2 with a 12-8 victory over Self Made.
Jose Melendrez Jr. and Matias Franco each managed a double and three singles. Ruben Chavez provided a double and two singles, plating two Self Made runs.
Feather Haven is 4-0 in the Men’s DD after topping No Soup 4 You 9-5 in eight innings.
The Soup built a 5-0 lead after three innings, keyed by a double and single from Sam Juarez. Feather Haven responded with two runs in the fourth, highlighted by a two-run Mark Gallardo single. Consecutive doubles from Albert Alosi and Ryan McDonnell pulled Feather Haven even at 5-5 in the sixth. Gallardo and John DeCarlo Sr. hit consecutive one-out doubles to ignite a four-run Feather eighth.
Elias Madrid doubled and scored on a Frankie Navarrete single in the bottom of the seventh to give Loco Boys (2-1) a 12-11 nod over Trevino Brothers Construction. Adam DeLeon went 4-for-5 with two RBI for Loco Boys. Chad King delivered a double and two singles for Trevino Brothers.
Steve Arriaga and Mitch Martinez (4-for-4) hit two-run home runs as Silicon Valley Concrete defeated Claddagh Brew Crew 14-4. Mike Keith went 3-for-3 for the Crew.
Garza Sisters & Friends (3-0) remained unbeaten in Women’s League play Wednesday with an 8-7 win over All 4 Seasons Pet Services at Christmas Hill. Antoinette Torres went 3-for-4 and Cynthia Garza lined a two-run single for the winners. Trudi Souza went 4-for-4 and Maureen Hughes added a two-run double for Pet Services.
Corey’s Girls (2-1) topped Goldsmith Seeds 25-5 as Shawna Snakenberg homered and Corey Casillas went 4-for-4. Monica Mayclin and Irene Rivera each drilled two hits and scored two Goldsmith runs.
Chris Green and Donny Gooding each homered as 4-0 Dirty Dozen edged the Players 9-8 in Men’s CC play. Julio Jimenez and Joe Ojeda hit homers for the Players.
Team Wicked scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to edge Blackout Window Tinting 9-8, leaving both teams at 3-1. Hung Nguyen ended the game with a two-run single. Sat Regalado homered for Wicked, Matt Elam for Blackout.
Taylor Micali roped a homer, triple and three doubles to lift Cali Auto past Walton & Sons Masonry 22-21. Geoff Graves and Albert Vegas each went 4-for-4 for Walton.
