Gilroy fell in a tie breaker to Monte Vista Christian on Wednesday, with MVC taking the match thanks to the score of its sixth player.
Both teams were knotted at 341 despite and it came down to the 78 from MVC’s Amy Wu who won it for Monte Vista after Gilroy’s sixth player withdrew.
MVC’s Alisha Fei was the medalist with a 56.
But the next four golfers shot in the 70s while Gilroy had three golfers in the 60s.
Nicole Dan shot a 61 with Abby Clark shooting 65 and Vetania Carrasco shooting 66.
Cassidy Gilmore’s 72 and Gabbi Miller’s 77 helped clinch the tie after rounds of 70, 71, 72 and 72 from MVC.
Gilroy followed that the next day with a spectacular match with three girls shooting sub 60 but it wasn’t enough against North Monterey County who is all around solid. NMC’s throw out score was a 67.
The last time the two teams faced, NMC won by 69 strokes. This time the margin was 26.
Dan, Alessandra Esposito and Clark all shot 58s with a 65 from Carrasco and a 68 from Gabbi Miller.
Meanwhile, the medalist was Michaela Galli with a 51 as NMC had four golfers shot in the 50s.
“Our players are right where they need to be, they have been improving their scores every time they have stepped onto a Golf Course,” said coach Daniel Valdez.
