2 a.m.: Someone drove a car into the Highway 152 sign at Leavesley Road east of Monterey Road, causing $200 of damage to the sign.

10:30 p.m.: A man on Welburn Avenue had his car stolen, but police recovered it a few blocks away shortly afterwards.

11:27 p.m.: A 19-year-old man was arrested for DUI after crossing the centerline and crashing into a pole at Princevalle street and West Sixth Street.

1:58 a.m.: A 44-year-old man was found passed out on the sidewalk at Monterey Road and Sixth Street. He was arrested for being drunk in public.

4:13 a.m.: An alert officer stopped an auto burglary on the 8100 block of Kelton Drive. Police were called by a witness who said they saw someone breaking into cars that were apparently unlocked and the GPD officer got there as the suspects were running off.  One of the suspects dropped a silver mountain bike while running away. The officer couldn’t find the victims and left his business card.

7 a.m.: Someone broke into a barred office at Santa Teresa and Third Street over the weekend and stole a black laptop and two hot spots causing damage and loss of $1,400.

8:25 a.m.: A driver in a stolen Escalade drove over the lawn at Gilroy Gardens and hit a construction base for a new banner causing $3,000 damage. Matching pieces to the stolen car were found at the scene.

9 a.m.: Someone broke into a car at Sturla Way overnight and stole a burlap bag full of dirty towels, $100 of skin care products and a $50 electric facial scrubber.

7 a.m.: Someone stole a 1996 Toyota Camry on Ramona Way overnight.

7:41 a.m.: Someone stole a wallet and keys to other vehicles from a man’s unlocked car on Second Street.

9:29 a.m.: Someone stole a vehicle that was left running while a woman went into the GIlroy Library.

3 p.m.: An identity thief opened a Check N Go account in another person’s name.
4:05 p.m.: An identity thief bought five Sprint phones in another person’s name.
5:17 p.m.: An identity thief opened a Netflix account in another person’s name.

3:56 a.m.: A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary on the 7100 block of Church Street after he was allegedly caught prying open a screen at a Church Street apartment. Juan Luis Hernandez was booked into Santa Clara County Jail. Police got a call from a witness and then the apartment owner heard someone prying the window open. Police found Hernandez nearby and witnesses identified him.

7:16: Two Fairview Drive women had been fighting for a long time and one of them made a death threat to the other.

12:18 a.m.: A driver ran from his 1998 Acura after hitting a tree at Camino Arroyo and Arroyo Circle.

1:20 p.m.: A man reported his 1997 green Honda Accord was stolen from Farrell Avenue sometime over the previous two days.

7:05 p.m.: A man was arrested for using his soldering tool at an Arroyo Circle business’s outlet without permission.

9 p.m.: A man was robbed at knifepoint while walking through an alley at Mantelli Drive.

9:20 p.m.: Police arrested a car thief on Kennedy Court and reunited the owner with his car after stopping the thief for a traffic violation and finding the car was stolen.

4 a.m.: Two men were drinking at a house on IOOF Avenue when one told the other he should be paying his ex-wife her child support. The man got upset, when to his car and came back with a pool cue, striking the other man in the arm, breaking the stick and causing a giant welt. Juan Martin Reyes Hermandez, 24, was arrested in the case.

3 p.m.:  A man in a wheelchair was arrested at Kohl’s for trying to steal 10 pairs of jeans, hiding them under his seat.
3:26 p.m.: A bindle of meth was found on the floor at Kohl’s.

4 p.m.: Two shotguns were reported stolen from a house on Dowdy Street. The 12 gauge and 20 gauge were valued at $150 and $350.

1:06 a.m.: A man saw his car being stolen on Woodcreek Way. He followed the car in another car, but lost sight of it at Day Road and Monterey.
