Staff Sergeant Chad Janssen works to evenly distribute quart

A fundraiser benefitting Operation Interdependence will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., March 21 at the Milias Restaurant, located on the corner of Sixth and Monterey streets in downtown Gilroy.

The event will feature a tasting of local wines and a showcase of artwork by Cory Still. Tickets are available for a pre-sale price of $10 per person or for $12 at the door (wine tasting is included in the cost).

All proceeds from the sale will be donated to Operation Interdependence, a civilian-to-military delivery system that sends quart-sized bags filled with treats, toiletries and handwritten letters to troops stationed overseas in countries such as Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait. The O.I. chapter in Gilroy has been active for nine years.
