After a six-week long investigation, Gilroy Police arrested a Gilroy man Wednesday for a gang-related shooting that occurred on the 100 block of Old Gilroy Street in September.Â
Allen Joseph Tayson, 23, was arrested for shooting at an inhabited dwelling, negligent discharge of a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon, and for being a gang member in possession of a dangerous weapon.Â
At 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 20, a shooting in a residence occurred on Old Gilroy Street, and neither the victim (later determined to be a 24-year-old male) were not identified or located. Â
Gilroy Police investigated and found that the gunshot had not hit the victim, and determined the primary suspect to be Tayson.Â
On Wednesday, Gilroy and Morgan Hill SWAT team served a search warrant on the 800 block of Monticelli Street and found evidence that linked Tayson to the shooting. Tayson was arrested and taken to Santa Clara County Jail.Â
