At 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 23, Subway on Welburn Avenue was robbed by gunpoint when a man entered the restaurant and pointed a handgun at employees, demanding they give him all the money in the register.

The suspect, who wore some type of cloth face covering, according to Gilroy Police Sgt. Chad Gallacinao, stole $449 in cash.

On his way out, the suspect grabbed a bag of Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips.

Employees said he drove away in a brown Lincoln.

Because the case is being actively investigated, Gallacinao would not reveal if the suspect has been named.

Anyone with information about this robbery is encouraged to call the Gilroy Police Department 846-0350.
