County Registrar to host candidate information session

The Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters’ Office will host a candidate session, which is free and open to the public, from 10 a.m. to noon July 14 inside the auditorium near the ROV Office located at 1555 Berger Drive, Building 2, in San Jose.

The purpose of the session is for candidates and members of the public who might be considering filing for elected office in the upcoming November general election to receive information, which will help guide and provide insight into the filing process. The session will provide an overview of the filing process and cover topics such as candidate nomination documents, candidate statement format and guidelines, voting by mail, services offered by the ROV Office and what to expect on Election Day.

The session is being conducted prior to the nomination period, which is July 16 through Aug. 10. It is also being conducted on a Saturday to make it more convenient and to give more people the opportunity to attend, according to a press release.

Please RSVP by July 12. To make reservations, or for more information about the session or candidate filing, contact the ROV Office at (408) 299-8639. The information that will be covered during the two-hour session can be obtained in the candidate guide, which is available online at www.sccvote.org.
