Funeral Services will be held in Harlingen, Texas for Florentina Perez Saldivar – who died at the age of 83, in her home after a lengthy illness.
Born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Florentina settled in Harlingen, where she raised her 8 daughters and 2 sons. She traveled with her family every year to Gilroy to work the fields and at the Gilroy Canning Company for 12 years.
Dona Flor was known as Mom, Grandma, and Great- Grandma to many in California, Texas and Mexico. She will be remembered and greatly missed by all. Throughout her life she was always moving and stayed strong through her own trials and tribulations.
Her final resting place is Harlingen, Texas.
Dona Flor is survived by her three daughters, Rosa Lopez,
and Rosario Perez of Gilroy; and Esmerelda Iboa of Morgan
Hill. Her Grandchildren, Anita Acosta of Oceanside; Sandra,
David, and Edward Lopez; Cecelia Acuna, Lupita Rodriguez,
Maria Flores, Oralia and Ernesto Perez of Gilroy. Also,
Xochitl Plascendia, Christina, Hector Jr., Elizabeth, and
Oscar Iboa, of Morgan Hill. Her Great-Grandchildren,
Sergio Acosta of Oceanside, John, Taxanna, Dynasty,
Cynthia, Jesus, Yasmine Flores; of Gilroy. Oscar Jr., Damien,
Elena, and Dayashia Pascencia of Morgan Hill.
