Discount Bonfante tickets for locals
Gilroy – Bonfante Gardens, California’s only horticultural theme park is offering Gilroy residents a special discount from June 12 through 25.
Guests who present a valid identification listing a Gilroy address may purchase a discount admission ticket for just $21.99 (regular price $38.99) for up to six people in their immediate party.
Bonfante Gardens is open 11am to 5pm weekdays and 10am to 6pm weekends.
The park features six majestic gardens, educational exhibits, world famous Circus Trees and more than 40 rides and attractions including Bonfante’s Splash Garden.

Five achieve Eagle Scout status
Gilroy – Five 18 year old young men from Gilroy were recognized in May as an elite group of individuals who had mastered the final set of leadership skills as part of their involvement with the Boys Scouts of America.
They became outstanding in all that Scouting represents and received the highest advancement rank known as the Eagle Scout Award.
Classic car show coming Saturday
Gilroy – The 4th annual Forever Young Classic Car Show will be Saturday, June 24, at the Gilroy Wal-Mart, from 2 to 6pm.
Open to all classics, hot rods, custom and race cars pre-1976.

Rebekah’s golf tournament
Gilroy- The 4th annual Rebekah Children’s Services golf tournament will be held at Eagle Ridge Monday, June 26 at noon, and will benefit prevention and education services in 11 Gilroy schools for more than 2,300 students and family members. Green fees are $200 and include a golf shirt, visor, refreshments on the course, BBQ lunch, buffet dinner, and a chance to win prizes.

A taste of college
Gilroy – Students in grades three through eight can get ahead this summer by taking advantage of Gavilan College’s new program “College for Youth.”
The program includes more than 70 course options to give families flexibility during the summer.
Choose from math, English, academic strategies, art, science and computers. The classes are two-weeks long and begin June 26 and end Aug. 3. Most will be offered Mondays through Thursdays from 8am to 4pm. Class fees range from $49 to $69 per class.
Courses will be offered at the Gavilan College main campus in Gilroy and at the Morgan Hill site. Registration can be done by mail, fax, in person or online at www.gavilan.edu/ce.
