A Gilroy police captain has graduated from a training academy hosted by the FBI.

Gilroy Police Department Captain Jim Gillio graduated last month from the FBI National Academy, an intensive 10-week leadership training program held at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Va., according to the GPD.

The program consisted of 258 law enforcement leaders from 49 states, the District of Columbia, 20 foreign nations and military and federal civilian organizations. Through the program, the FBI offers investigative, management and fitness training for selected officers, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release. Training is provided by academy instructors, special agents and other FBI staff members.
