Joseph Polanco Vega October 7, 1925 – September 7, 2013

Joseph will have a graveside service at the San Juan Bautista Cemetary September 11, 2013, at 11:00 A.M.
Joseph Polanco Vega, born in 1925, died peacefully at his son’s home on September 7, 2013. He was born in Penelope, TX.
At the age of 4 he went to Mexico during the Depression, returning to California in 1941 under the Brasero Program. He worked for the Ideal Cement Plant in San Juan Bautista for 25 years as an accomplished welder.
He was an avid race car driver in the late 50’s and 60’s and became a proficient pilot purchasing his own 1946 7AC Aeronca airplane.
Joseph spent half of his life in Mexico, half in the United States. A trip to Egypt was one of the highlights of his life.
He loved spreading good will to the orphanages in Mexico, often bringing clothes, blankets and wheel chairs to those in need. He is survived by five children, Vince, Ovdulia, Abraham, Sherwood and Woodrow.
He has ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
His present wife Chayito Morales resides in Mexico.
We wish to express our deepest appreciation and gratitude to the awesome Hospice Caregivers, family members and those who, by words of sympathy and deeds of kindness, helped to lighten our burden of grief.
