The Gilroy Farmers Market will celebrate National Farmers Market Week on Aug. 7.

The United States Department of Food and Agriculture, the Farmers Market Coalition, and many farmers markets across the country have been celebrating National Farmers Market Week for 22 years.

The Gilroy Farmers Market is held Saturdays from 10am-3pm at the Gilroy Premium Outlets Parking Lot C. More than 25 vendors are offering fresh fruit and vegetables, olive oil, honey, baked potatoes, Thai cuisine and more.

“Farmers markets are a great community resource, bringing family farmers to cities, offering fresh, local, delicious produce,” said market founder and Executive Director Sal Ascencio. “Farmers markets are also great for the local economy, creating jobs, and more importantly, careers. The majority of the vendors are family-run businesses.”
