CSU Monterey Bay’s World theater is a 457-seat state-of-the-art performing arts facility. The theater was renovated from the historic Hansen Theater, a 900-seat movie house built about 50 years ago for the soldiers stationed at the Fort Ord Army Base. In the late 1990s, as CSUMB continued to develop and adapt buildings at the former military base for academic purposes, the Hansen was radically remodeled as a multi-use theater and opened in 1999 with a concert by jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater.

The World Theater is located on the campus of CSU Monterey Bay in Seaside. Tickets for the Turtle Island String Quartet are $20 for the general public and $15 for groups of 20 or more and can be purchased by calling the box office at (831) 582-4580.
