Dear Editor:
Many thanks for your support of the South County Animal Shelter. Without a doubt, one of the reasons why the adoption rate is high and euthanization low at the shelter is because of articles such as the one that was on the front page of the Tuesday’s (Jan. 7) paper and your weekly feature introducing pets available for adoption at the shelter.
I have been told by people working at the shelter that the Pet of the Week is adopted immediately. Plus, people that come to the shelter to see the “pet” will likely take another pet if the one in the paper was already adopted. I have always felt that since Gilroy is growing by leaps and bounds, new people coming to the area need to know about the shelter and what better way than The Dispatch.
Many thanks from the little creatures that you have helped find homes and the big creatures that have adopted them.
