Dear Editor,

I was at the City Council meeting and was listening to the comments made by the city council, the developer and Bernadette Arellano. As Ms. Arellano and Councilman Paul Correa stated, the average-income person will be able to get a home in this new project. Not so at Eagle Ridge. So what are the councilmen’s concerns with this project? Isn’t Eagle Ridge a high concentration of homes, where is the affordability for the average- income citizen of Gilroy there?

I ask Councilman Craig Gartman and Roland Velasco along with newly elected Councilman Dion Bracco, where is the balance? What is the difference between Eagle Ridge, Lyon Creek and Rancho del Sol, in regards to land use and affordability?

Judy Hess, Gilroy
