Four different Cougars had two-hit afternoons, however the CHS baseball team couldn’t halt a mid-season losing streak, dropping an 8-4 decision to visiting Monterey Bay League opponent Monte Vista Christian on Monday.

Patrick Valdez, Ryan Fredricks, Nathan Davis and Kevin Willard all had a pair of base hits but seven runs through the first three innings set the Cougars back.

CHS cut the deficit to 7-4 by the fourth before the Mustangs tacked on another tally in the fifth.

The Cougars (4-12, 3-7 MBL) have another crack at MVC (10-6, 9-2 MBL) on Wednesday where they will look to get back on the winning track and snap the five-game skid.
