Gilroy High softball squad suffers 1-0 road loss to North
Salinas
SALINAS – The Gilroy High softball squad dropped its second straight one-run game in consecutive days with Wednesday’s 1-0 road loss to league-foe North Salinas.

The Lady Mustangs managed only one hit – a sixth-inning single by senior second baseman Dallas Hernandez – off Lady Vikings’ ace Monica Abbott, who had another dominant showing.

Senior ace Jennifer Olvera once again went the distance in a losing effort – allowing only four hits and one run in the second inning.

Gilroy – which will complete its three-games-in-three-days stretch today against first-place Notre Dame at 4 p.m. – saw its league record drop to 5-7 as well as its overall mark dip to 13-12. A team must have a .500 record to qualify for the Central Coast Section Playoffs.
