GILROY—The $2 million renovation project at Gilroy High School's Garcia-Elder Sports Complex, which was delayed earlier this summer, remains on track for a Sept. 25 completion date.

Two structures in west Gilroy were destroyed Monday after a guesthouse caught fire and eventually spread to the main house nearby. Firefighters were called to 7945 Whitehurst Road at 12:30 p.m. and when they arrived, the guesthouse was engulfed in flames, according to a Cal Fire spokesperson.

GILROY—The owner of the Gilroy Bizzness Center, which was closed down by police one week after opening its doors, has pleaded no contest in court to charges of illegal gambling nearly two years after the store was permanently shuttered.
