Audiences at Morgan Hill’s CineLux Cinemas last weekend were full of glee for the world premiere of the movie “Gleeful,” a musical comedy filmed entirely in the South Valley and featuring a cast of more than a hundred young actors from the region.

Divers from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office spent the afternoon searching a group of percolation ponds along Coyote Creek for evidence that might lead them to the whereabouts of Sierra LaMar, 15, who has been missing since March 16.

Another search-and-rescue effort to find missing 15-year-old Sierra LaMar is scheduled for today, and will include sheriff’s office dive teams searching underwater in South County reservoirs. 

Nearly 700 people from the South Bay and South Santa Clara Valley areas, and even a few from outside the state, trekked to Morgan Hill to volunteer their time in the search for missing teen Sierra LaMar, as police announced Tuesday their investigation has ruled out the possibility that she ran away on her own. 

Hundreds of people - some estimate as many as 600 - from all over the South Bay and points farther south showed up to volunteer Tuesday morning for the search for Sierra LaMar, 15, who was reported missing from her north Morgan Hill home March 16.

A gloomy weather forecast didn’t dampen drinkers from venturing out en masse Saturday and Sunday for South County’s biannual extravaganza devoted to drinking wine, making new friends, and... drinking more wine!

Friends, family and strangers to missing Morgan Hill 15-year-old Sierra LaMar gathered to raise awareness and pray for the teenager’s safe return at a prayer vigil in Morgan Hill Tuesday night.

The biological father of missing Morgan Hill teen Sierra LaMar, Steve LaMar of Fremont, is a registered sex crimes offender, according to the state Megan’s Law web site. But deputies do not consider him a suspect in the disappearance of Sierra LaMar, 15, who has been missing since Friday morning.

Sheriff’s deputies began conducting dozens of interviews with Morgan Hill and Fremont teens who might know anything about Sobrato High School sophomore Sierra LaMar, who was reported missing Friday.

Kay and Larry Weeks have 15 horse mouths to feed, so it’s no surprise that runaway hay prices are worrisome for the Gilroy couple whose vocation revolves around a passion for equines.
