Bob Fischer died April 23, 2004, from complications after hip replacement surgery. He was 61 years old.
He was the beloved husband of Sorell Fischer and father of Blake and Lindsey Fischer.
Mr. Fischer was a teacher, counselor, assistant principal and principal in the Los Angeles Unified School District until 1979. He then became principal at Central High School in Morgan Hill. Known simply as “Fish” around school, his passion was helping students believe in themselves. He was honored as the California Continuation Education Association “Teacher of the Year.”
After he retired from education in 1996, he joined his wife in private business providing leadership and management training.
As a member of the Rotary Club, Mr. Fischer helped serve the Morgan Hill community. In the organization he held a variety of positions including president, and was known for his great sense of humor and his sunny personality. He was also a member of the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce and served as an ambassador for the San Jose Chamber of Commerce for many years.
A memorial service will be held in his honor Friday, May 7, at the new Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center at the corner of E. Dunne and Monterey Road.
A scholarship fund for Central High School students is being set up in Bob Fischer’s name.
