A series of bird walks led by Jane Haley, a national park service docent for 20 years and a WERC volunteer, will continue on Saturday, from 9am to 1pm along Coyote Creek, north of Morgan Hill.

Due to the terrain, the walk is not recommended for young children. Free, but space is limited so reservations are required.

Gavilan Joggers And Striders Running Club

Meets at 8:15am every Saturday at Christmas Hill Park, near the entrance. Jog two to three miles including short track workout. Beginner joggers and those who would like to compete in running events are welcome.

Biking Group

The Health Ministries Program of Gilroy Presbyterian Church is sponsoring a Biking Group every Saturday, at 8:30am, leaving from the parking lot by First Street Coffee House, located at the corner of First Street and Westwood Drive. Men and women of all skill levels are welcome.

Open Poetry Reading

The Garlicky Group of Poets holds its monthly poetry reading on the second Saturday of each month at 3:30pm in the meeting room of the Gilroy Public Library, located at Rosanna and Sixth streets. Public participation is welcome and admission is free.

Make Your Own Shows

Community Media Access partnership (CMAP) is airing its orientation workshop on Public Access Channel 20 on Fridays and Sundays at 4pm through June.

Additional repeats are listed on www.mycmap.org. Residents who don’t have cable can also contact CMAP to borrow a copy or watch it at CMAP’s facility.

Once members are trained, they can create local programming at no cost.

Find Comfort In Grief

Grief Share, a grief recovery support group, holds weekly support group meetings at First Baptist Church, 8455 Wren Ave., from 7 to 9pm in the Choir room. Those grieving the loss of someone close can find comfort and encouragement from others who understand and want to help through their difficult time.

Gavilan Joggers and Striders Club meets at 8am every Sunday near the corner of Santa Teresa Boulevard and First Street. The club runs four to eight miles.

Fathers’ Day Golf Fundraiser For Softball

Grade Point Average And Sports will hold a Fathers’ Day Golf Tournament fundraiser on Sunday, June 19, with check-in at noon, at the Gilroy Golf Course, 2695 Hecker Pass Highway. Cost is $85 for non-members and $65 for members. Deadline to register is Monday, June 13.

Better Breathers’ Club
