Christmas Homicide Arrest

Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Gilroy man on suspicion of killing his mother with a baseball bat around 11 a.m. Christmas Day. 
Deputies said they were called to a home at the 2000 block of Roop Road for a reported domestic disturbance, an alleged battery with a baseball bat.
When they got there they found Claudia Salewske, 70, badly beaten. She died a few hours later in the hospital.
Her son, Matthew Salewske, 39, was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of murder.
