as alternates, but at weigh-ins this morning, Graffigna squeezed
into the competition after another wrestler did not make
weight.
SAN JOSE – The Christopher High varsity wrestling team has its first individual wrestler in school history participating in the Central Coast Section Championships today at Independence High School in San Jose.
Freshman Jacob Graffigna was one of three Cougars who qualified as alternates, but at weigh-ins this morning, Graffigna squeezed into the competition after another wrestler did not make weight.
Graffigna will wrestle in the 130-pound division.
The Cougars finished fourth in the Monterey Bay League in their first season as a program.
The first three rounds will take place today with the finals set for 7 p.m. on Saturday.
