Cioppino Feed Benefits GHS Athletics

Gilroy – The annual Cioppino Feed benefiting Gilroy High School athletics takes place from 5:30 to 11pm Saturday at Christopher Ranch located off Highway 25 just east of U.S. 101.

The event traditionally draws more than 1,200 people who enjoy an all you can eat crab cioppino dinner, including salad, garlic bread and complimentary red wine with dinner. The evening is topped off by a dance featuring the sounds of the Shaboom. The event is made possible each year through the donation of facilities by Don and Bill Christopher. Through the years, the event has raised almost $500,000 dollars to offset the costs of running the athletic program at Gilroy High School. The majority of funds have gone to defer the cost of transportation. The rest has been put into an trust and are being used to supplement capital projects such as upgrading the school’s weight room.

Tickets can be purchased beginning at Gilroy High School in the student activities office, or on the Web site at www.gilroyhighschool.com. The cost is $50.
