Residents in several southwest Gilroy neighborhoods may have to find new parking spots today through Wednesday as street repairs will cause closures on several blocks, according to the city of Gilroy.
When in effect, the street closures will run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and residents are still advised to leave their garbage containers out Monday night for Tuesday’s scheduled pick-up, according to the city.
Today’s closures are scheduled for Stratford Place, Hyde Park Drive, Barron Place, Sussex Place, London Place, Churchill Place, Antonio Court and Angela Court.
On Tuesday, Victoria Drive, between Church Street and Hyde Park Drive will be closed, as will Dearborn Place, Chesapeake Place, Riverview Circle, Alta Oak Way and Brook Way.
Wednesday’s closures are Greenwich Drive, Yorktown Drive, Andover Place, Plymouth Drive, Utica Place, Albany Court and Potomac Place.
The process, known as a chip seal, is intended to make the roadways more durable. To avoid damages, neighbors are being asked to not drive on those streets until they are reopened and are advised to find alternative parking locations, according to the city.
