The City of Gilroy is in the “late stage” of hiring a $109,707 to $146,281 yearly salaried liaison between the city and the development community, according to LeeAnn McPhillips, Gilroy’s human resources director.

The position, which was developed in January, includes heading up the permit process with community members interested in development, and designing and managing programs that spur economic development within the city.

The job listing, which is no longer posted, required candidates to have a bachelor’s degree with coursework in urban planning or a related field, as well as three years experience with development and project management.
