When asked Thursday if Gilroy planned to follow a Morgan Hill initiative that disclosed the names, professions, salaries and full compensations of its city employees on its website, several Gilroy officials said following suit was a possibility.
As of Friday, the City of Gilroy made its calendar year 2009 employee compensation report available on its website. Though not as detailed as Morgan Hill’s – which has figure breakdowns of regular wages, overtime, holiday, premium, assignment, uniform, auto, housing, fitness and leave payouts – Gilroy’s spreadsheet includes employee names, job titles, departments, base pay, gross employee overtime, other payments to contribute to gross pay and total gross pay.
Gilroy’s grand total for employee base pay was $20,064,524. Gross employee overtime was $1,668,816; other payments to contribute to gross pay were $1,775,458, and gross total pay was $23,508,797.
