City officials are mulling a $100,000 traffic study for Welburn Avenue in Gilroy.

The Gilroy City Council voted unanimously Monday night to establish a trust account for sister city Takko-Machi, 17 days after an 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami devastated Japan.

Mayor Al Pinheiro said residents can donate money at City Hall, located at 7351 Rosanna Street. From there, the money will go to Gilroy’s sister city or to a charitable, nonprofit organization of Takko-Machi’s choice, Pinheiro said.
