Three Las Animas Elementry School kindergarten classes took a field trip on Dec. 9 to learn more about transportation. The students walked, rode a bus, toured the Transportation Center on Monterey Road in Gilroy and watched a mechanic change a tire. They also visited Indian Motorcycles and watched ‘Polar Express,’ a movie about a train.
Finishing their season
The Gilroy Chaos girls fastpitch softball league finished a successful year in 2004. The Chaos included 16U, 12U and 10U teams with more than 45 girls competing in fastpitch tournaments throughout the year. Gilroy Chaos looks forward to an additional 14U team next year. The Chaos staff and players thank those who have contributed time, money and gifts. The team was sponsored by the following: Dr. Binh P. Award-winning performance
The San Benito High School Scarlet Regiment Band, pictured marching in the Veteran’s Day Parade in Hollister, won several awards in the 45th annual Central California Band Review. The team came in second in both the Class C Parade and the Class C Auxiliary. Natalie Smith placed second in the Military Drum Major category.
