On behalf of the Gilroy Premium Outlets and Gilroy Police Department Neighborhood Resource Unit, we wish to thank the following agencies and volunteers for helping make the third annual Halloween “Spooktacular” event held Friday, Oct. 31 a great success.
Each year this event continues to grow and this year more than 2,000 children and their families attended this fun and safe Halloween night.
Kids not only received candy from many of the Gilroy Premium Outlet Stores, they also received a tri-color glow necklace provided by the Gilroy Police Department and a florescent Halloween bag which listed important Halloween safety tips and a brochure on fire safety tips.
Santa Clara Health Plan, Gina Lopez State Farm Insurance and the Gilroy Fire Department donated the Halloween bags. The Gilroy Premium Outlets stores also gave away special discount coupons while Gilroy Hometown Buffet gave away free kids meal tickets. Everybody got a treat!
Thank you Gilroy Dispatch for providing excellent print media coverage and to Gilroy Unified School District which provided the distribution of the Halloween flyers.
Other donors who provided financial assistance were the Gilroy Gang Task Force, Gilroy Wal-Mart, and Spectra Printing of Gilroy.
Finally, a very special thanks to the Gilroy Fire Department and their team of volunteers, Gilroy Police Department Mounted Unit Officers, GPD K-9 Officer, GPD Volunteers in Policing Team, and California Highway Patrol Officers who all volunteered their time to be out at the Outlets on Halloween night so that the kids from the Gilroy community could have a fun and safe Halloween Trick or Treat time.
It was great to see the many happy face Trick-Or-Treaters!
