THIS WEEK’S WEB POLL:

Should the City Council vote to implement a

Monday-Thursday work week for City Hall employees?

Yes: 5 No: 4

■ No – not across the board. City services should be available during regular weekdays. However, there are other options to implement an alternative schedule without shutting down completely. Morgan Hill has a system that seems to work for them.

■ NO. This would not serve the people of Gilroy better. City employees work for us citizens, not the other way around.

■ I think that is a fabulous idea. I would love a working environment that gave me an extra day off.

■ If it truly saves money, yes. However for customer service reasons, it might not work.

■ Should be offered as an option-as long as services are available.

■ I think the employees will get more done with the longer hours and four days a week. Yes I think the city should go to the four-day work week. I think the city will also save money with less work days.

■ Yes. Anything to be more cost efficient should be considered.
