Fire on Monterey

Firefighters tamed a two-alarm fire at 6791 Alexander St., alongside the railroad tracks and Soares Lumber. The blaze began at 5:53pm Wednesday at a homeless encampment along the tracks, destroyed the camp and spread to 10 stored vehicles.
